The South Africa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church welcomes Rev. Bafana Nomdebevana, the newly appointed Administrative Assistant to the Bishop. Rev. Nomdebevana was appointed to this position by Bishop J. F. Sambo, Resident Bishop of the Mozambique, South Africa, Madagascar and Eswatini Episcopal Area, during the South Africa Annual Conference held on 23 November 2025 in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Rev. Nomdebevana, who takes over from his predecessor, Rev. Mills Maliwa, began his ministry journey in 2005. He has served as a Cabinet member for several years, including his tenure as District Superintendent of the Ikhwezi and Khayalethu Districts. He is married to Mama Bomikazi Bawuli, and together they are blessed with beautiful children.
The Annual Conference wishes him well as he begins his new role in the Bishop’s Office.
