Bishop Joaquina Filipe Nhanala is a Mozambique national cleric and theologian. Born on 6 September 1956 in Xai-Xai, Gaza, Province, Mozambique, she did her primary and secondary education in her home country. Bishop Nhanala is married and blessed with four children.
For her tertiary education she was enrolled in various universities namely; Trinity College, University of Legon-Ghana, St PaulĀ“s University, Limuru, Kenya, and Gbarnga School of Theology, Liberia where she attained various degrees in Theology.
Bishop J. F. Nhanala worked in various sectors before she was ordained as Bishop, these areas include; Teaching, Dean of Students, Civil worker, Project Manager, Director of HIV/AIDS MFL – World Relief Mozambique, and a Pastor In-Charge.
Bishop Nhanala, was elected to be The South Africa Annual Conference Bishop at the Africa Central Conference in August 2008, in Mutare, Zimbabwe. She oversees both Mozambique and South Africa Conferences.
